Kalidasa Samaroha

Kalidasa Samaroha is celebrated every year at Ujjain as a tribute to the great poet playwright Kalidasa. It is organized every year by the Kalidasa Academy in November. This festival consists of presentations of Kalidasa’s original plays in Sanskrit, its versions in other Indian languages, traditional theatrical dance forms, ballets and dance recitals.

Another attraction of this festival is the National Kalidasa Exhibition. The exhibits are required to be portrayed in traditional Indian styled painting and sculpture style or traditional Indian folk art style.
