Kali Topi Dance

Kali Topi (Black Hat) Dance is performed on Lossoong - the Sikkimese New Year Day - demonstrating the triumph of good over evil. This masked dance is performed by male dancers, mostly the Lamas. The dance is enactment of an old story which happened about 12 centuries ago, in which king Land-Darma was slain by a Lama for suppressing Buddhism in Tibet.
