Kalaia is situated in West Singhbhum District. This small town is about 9 km east of Noamundi. Jagannathpur, a place noted for its Shiva temple, is 8 km to the north. Murugeshwar Mahadev Temple is another nearby revered shrine, which is near Noamundi. Ranchi Airport and Chaibasa Railway Station are the nearest airport and railway station respectively.
