Kala Bhavana

Started in 1919 by Rabindranath Tagore, Kala Bhavana is considered as one of the famous centers for visual art practice and research in India. Housed inside the Visva Bharati University complex in Shantiniketan, the center offers diploma, under graduate and post graduate courses in painting, sculpture, graphic art, art history and design. A course in Indian Art is also conducted. Students get sufficient opportunity to sharpen future prospects through studio practice, lectures and discussions.

Airfield close to the city is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, about 213 km. The nearest railhead is Bolpur, 2 km away.
