Kakwan, about 52 km from Kanpur city, is a prominent agricultural town in Kanpur Dehat District. Located to the north of Mati, it is about 17 km south of Bilhaur, 13 km north of Asalatganj and 19 km west of Barrajpur.
Makanpur, about 20 km from here, is an important pilgrim town famous for a small shrine of Shah Madar.
