Kailashi or Kalashi Jatra is a popular fair celebrated in the
Boudh District of
Orissa. It falls on the 11th day of bright fortnight of Kartika (October – November). It is observed in the kalashi kothi (worshipping place) .The walls of the kalashi kothi are garnished with beautiful paintings of gods and goddesses’. A special type of musical instrument, Dhunkel, is played during this occasion inside the kalashi kothi.
