Kailashahar is the district headquarters of
North Tripura District in
Tripura. This sub-divisional town is 33 km from Pecharthal and 27 km from
Kumarghat.
Darlong, a sub caste of Lusai tribal community, mostly inhabits the area. Unakoti, a pilgrim center, is 10 km away. Khowra Lake and Laxmi Narayan Mandir are the other attractions nearby. Forest Department Rest House provides accommodation facility.
There are regular bus services from Agartala (200 km south-west). C A Agartala Airport and Dharmanagar Railway Station are the nearest airport and railhead respectively.
