Kachineri Karaikkadu Temple




Kachineri Karaikkadu Temple is positioned at Thirukalimedu in Kanchipuram, facing the west. The presiding deity of the temple is Satyanatheshwarar and the goddess is Bhramarambigai. The temple is named after the path leading to it, that is bordered by thorny bushes. A bath in the holy water, Indra Teertham, is believed to be a sacred one. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple has a shrine dedicated to Swayambhu Murti. According to the legend, Lord Mercury prayed at this temple and was elevated to the position of one of the sacred navagrahas.

To reach this place, the nearest railway station is the Arakkonam Railway Station, located to the north-east of Kanchipuram.
