Kabaries



Kabaries are one of the tribal groups inhabiting in Orissa. They claim to be the descendants of Jarasabar (sawar), the first worshiper of Lord Jagannath. Many of them earn a livelihood by collecting and selling firewood, bamboos and charcoal. They also practice subsistent and marginal agriculture. The tribal are adept in animal tracking while good deals of them are excellent herbal healers as well.
