Junput is located in
Midnapore District in
West Bengal. It lies about 40 km north-east of
Digha.
Junput is famous for its beautiful beach and brackish water fish cultivation. A drive to this spot via Kanthi (Contai) offers a commanding view of Casuarina forests. The town also has a scientific research center and a center for studies in marine biology.
Contai Road Railway Station serves Junput.
