Juna Deesa



Juna Deesa is a village renowned as a Jain center. Situated about 3 km from Deesa taluk in Banaskantha District, this village was renowned as a spiritual center in the past. It is believed that Juna Deesa was blessed by the presence of Acharya Shri Hemchandracharya in the 13th century. Major point of attraction at Juna Dessa is the 45 cm high idol of Shri Adishwar. This idol is placed in the famous Shri Deesa Teerth. Shri Bheeladiyaji Teerth, Shri Palampur Teerth and Shri Charup Jain Teerth are other Jain temples easily accessible by road from this village. Ahmedabad is 175 km from Juna Deesa and the nearest railhead is at Deesa (3 km).
