Jubi Tree

Towards the north-west corner of Golden Temple complex, stands the gnarled old Jubi tree. It was planted about 450 years ago by Baba Buddhaya, the first high priest of Golden Temple. The tree is supposed to have special powers. In order to get blessings, barren women hang strips of cloth on it. The marriage deals are also taken under this tree.
