Jorhat Engineering College is located on the bank of river
Brahmaputra and to the south of
Majuli Island, the largest river island of the world. It is a fully residential college affiliated to the
Dibrugarh University,
Assam. The college offers UG courses in civil, computer science, electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical engineering and PG courses in computer application, production and industrial engineering.
The college has a well established library, having more than forty thousand books. Students are selected strictly on the basis of an entrance test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Assam.
