Jipe Chonga is a popular festival of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is celebrated on the 14th day of the fourth Bodhi month. It is believed that
Buddha took the physical birth on this day. People fast during this festival. Homes and gompas are illuminated, and special prayers are conducted on this occasion.
