Jhanda Fair that marks the arrival of Guru Ram Rai (the Sikh Guru) is celebrated every year in the month of March. It usually comes on the sixth day after
Holi.
This fair is held at the Guru Ram Rai Darbar in Dehradun, Uttaranchal. The festival commences with the hoisting of a Jhanda (flag) at Jhanda Chowk, which is in the compound of the Gurdwara. A large number of people from far and near come here to part in this fair.
