Jeolikote




Located 19 km from Kathgodam, Jeolikote is a hilltop village placed at a height of 1219 m in Nainital District. Blessed with shrines and beautiful sculptures, Jeolikote was chosen by great men such as Sri Aurobindo and Swami Vivekananda for solitude.

Sylvan Trail leading to a small bungalow, which was once the home of a descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte, and the haunted house of Warwick Sahib (a British army) are the landmarks.

An apiculture center, Jeolikote is famous in producing honey by rearing bees. Jeolikote is also a fertile ground for growing mushrooms and fruits such as strawberries and litchis.

The main road from Jeolikote leads to Nainital in left and right goes to Almora and Ranikhet.

Jeolikote is 18 km away from Nainital. Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
