Jeevan Gnanodhaya is a special school for the deaf and mentally retarded children. It was founded by Mr Devarajan and is run by the Jeevan Gnanodhaya Charitable Trust. The school provides education, food, clothes and shelter for children with hearing impairment and mental retardation. The education and shelter are full free of charge. There is a separate wing for mentally retarded children. The children are given education up to 8th grade according to the curriculum of Tamil Nadu government. The school has a typewriting institute for deaf children.
Chengalpattu Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead and Chennai International Airport is the nearest airport.
