Jayakwadi Dam




Jayakwadi Dam is built across the Godavari River and supplies water to the Aurangabad city. It is situated in Paithan town, famous for its woven Paithani sarees. The town is 50 km south of Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Jayakwadi Dam is famous for its vantage points for bird watching. A wide variety of resident and migratory birds are found in the vicinity of the dam. The best season to visit the place is between October and March. Dnyaneshwar Udyan and Balasaheb Patil Museum are the nearby attractions. The nearest railhead is Aurangabad Railway Station, 50 km from here. Aurangabad Airport is 50 km from the town.
