Jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary




Jayakwadi Bird Sanctuary is situated in Aurangabad and Ahmednagar districts of Maharashra. The Nathsagar Lake in the sanctuary is the abode of resident and migratory birds.

Nearly 200 species of birds are in this area. Cranes, flamingos, Brahmany duck, pintails, widgeon, god wit and glossy ibis are some of the birds spotted here.

The best time to visit is October to February.

Jaikwadi is 50 km from Aurangabad and 75 km from Ahmednagar. Aurangabad Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
