Jauljibi and Thal Fairs

Jauljibi Fair is primarily a trade fair held at Jauljibi, on the occasion of Makar Sankranti (October-November). Jauljibi is situated on the confluence of the Gori and Kali rivers, about 68 km from Pithoragarh. People from far-off places, even from Nepal, come to the fair for selling horses, foreign goods and food grains.

Thal Fair, a similar fair as that of Jauljibi, is held at Thal, on the occasion of Vaishakh Sankranti (14th April). Thousands of Shaukas gather from far and near for this fair.
