Puttenahalli Lake

Jaraganahalli Lake is a small lake located towards the east of Jaraganahalli village in Bangalore District of Karnataka. The lake, also called as Puttenahalli Lake, is one of the vibrant lakes which lost its glory due to low rainfall in recent years. Once, the lake and its nearby wetlands were rich in hundreds of different species of birds, including the migratory and resident birds. However, restoration work is being done to provide shelter to birds and make the inflow of storm water. For this purpose two acres of wetland is being created inside the lake and there are plans for a jogging track, a children’s park and boating. The Banashankari Temple is a nearby attraction.
