Jamyang Choling Nunnery is located at
Dharamsala in
Kangra District of
Himachal Pradesh. It was started in 1988 to provide education for the Himalayan Buddhist nuns. The nunnery aims to nurture the spiritual and intellectual potentiality of women. Jamyang Choling Nunnery trains the nuns as spiritual teachers and mentors and the nunnery also encourages a life based on monastic vows. The nunnery accommodates around 70 nuns at present.
