Jamkhed




Jamkhed is a taluk headquarters situated near the south-eastern border of Ahmednagar District, about 13 km north-east of Nanaj, in Maharashtra. Ashti is 18 km north-west and Southada is 10 km towards the north-east. Ahmednagar - the district headquarters – is around 76 km to the north-west.

Great Indian Bustard Wildlife Sanctuary and Rehekuri Blackbuck Sanctuary are within easy access from Jamkhed.

Jamkhed is noted for the Comprehensive Rural Health Project started there under the supervision of Dr Raj and his wife Mabelle Arole in 1970.

Pune Lohegaon Airport and Daund Junction Railway Station serve Jamkhed.
