Jami Mosque

Jami Mosque is a 17th century monument situated at Adoni in Kurnool District. This magnificent structure was built by Madu Qadri, a Governor under the Adil Shahi rulers.

The mosque is noted for its stupendous architecture. An immense doorway leads one into the mosque. A few strides through the open courtyard end in the prayer hall with a five-arched exterior. The minarets are formed by the octagonal buttresses and the brackets here hold stone chains. The roof dome stands on a petalled drum, while the interior ceilings are alternately domed and vaulted. The mihrab (prayer niche) is domed while other doorways have temple like particulars.
