Jamatia is the third largest tribal group of
Tripura. A Mongloid countenance is the outstanding feature of their person. They are a well-organized tribe. Jamatias are hard working agriculturalists. Kokborok is their major language. Many rituals and rites are carried out as part of their culture. Hoda is the main subsect of the Jamatias. Artistic and cultural activities such as song, dance and acting add color to their lives.
