Jama Masjid, the oldest mosque in Hyderabad, is located a few meters away from Charminar
. It was built in 1597 by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah after the completion of Charminar.
It remains one of the principal places of worship in the city and is visited by a large number of devotees. The ruins of an old Turkish bath lie within the premises of the Masjid.
Hyderabad Airport, 8 km north of the city, is the nearest airport.
