Jalmandir is a unique Jain temple in the midst of a tranquil lake. This temple is in Varanaga, a tiny hamlet 16 km from
Karkala. The idols of 4 teerthankars are enshrined in this temple. Numerous devotees visit here on Fridays. The 1000 years old
Neminath Basadi and Chandranath Temple are other famous temples in its vicinity.
Varanaga is situated around 45 km east of Udupi. Mangalore Central Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
