Jagannath Temple




Jagannath Temple is an ancient Vaishnavite temple situated at Jamalpur in Ahmedabad District of Gujarat. This temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna as the presiding deity. Other deities include Balram and Subhadra.

Annually a rath yatra is observed here with great pomp and splendor in July. The chariots carrying the idols of Lord Jagannath (Krishna), Balram and Subhadra are quite impressive. The decorated elephants, gymnasts, acrobats, saints and devotees from all walks of life join the procession of the Rath Yatra.

Jagannath Temple is within a short distance from Ahmedabad city. The nearest railway station is Ahmedabad Junction Railway Station.
