Itamati



Located on the outskirts of Nayagarh, Itamati is a typical Orissan village in Nayagarh District. It is about 14 km south of Khandapara and 7 km south-east of Balugaon.

Small trade and business is the main occupation of the villagers. Itamati is historically famous in the Nayagarh district for local trade, small and cottage manufacturing industry. It used to have the biggest daily market in the entire district and finding people unemployed is a rare commodity in Itamati. Festivals like Durga Puja and Dasdol (Ten days after famous Holi Festival) are vefry famous in Itamati.

Bansidhar Mahavidyalaya is a prominent educational institution in this area. The ancient temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath in Khandapara can be visited while in Itamati. The temple town of Ranpur is roughly 25 km away.

The nearest important railway station is Khurda Road Junction Railway Station. Biju Patnaik Airport is the closest airport. Nayagarh-Khordha road passes close by.
