Ita Fort




Ita Fort is a historical fort, situated in Itanagar of Papum Pare District. It was constructed in the fourteenth century by King Ramchandra of Mayapur. Itanagar has been named after this fort.

Ita Fort, with irregular shape, is built of more than 80 lakhs of bricks and 45 cubic meters of stone. It has three gates on three sides, believed to have been built by the Ahom rulers.
