Ishan Vrat is a fast observed by Hindu women in Uttar Pradesh. It is observed on the 14th day of the full moon of Pausha (December).
An altar is made after the observance, and the next day, it is covered with a piece of white cloth. Lord Ishan is worshipped during this fast.
After the observances, every devout woman presents gift of cows to a Brahmin.
