Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Thiruvananthapuram was started in 1989 with the sole aim of propagating the ancient science of Yoga as devised by Swami Vishnu-Devananda. It is a unit of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers.
The center offers courses in yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation. It also organizes satsangs, mantra yoga, pooja and religious discourses. Beginner’s classes are started in the first week and middle of every month. The duration of the course is two months.
The centre functions by the donations collected from its courses and the free service offered by the part time and full time staffs (Karma Yogis).
