Located within the S J Polytechnic Campus in Bangalore
, Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition was set up by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.
The institute offers full time, short term and refresher courses. Full time courses include Post Graduate Diploma in Accommodation Operations, Certificate Course in Food Production and B Sc in hotel management.
Short term courses are primarily designed for working women and college students. Refresher courses focus on training in various aspects such as cookery, housekeeping, sales and marketing, food production and front office. In addition, consultancy assignments are undertaken here.
There are food production labs, which are complete with imported equipments. Training restaurants with a seating capacity of 40 persons, well-equipped automated laundry, computer lab, library, video production lab and front office lab are the other facilities.
