Established by the Genomics Research Trust, Institute of Bioinformatics is a not-for-profit organization located in
Bangalore. The institute is engaged in research of computational genomics, comparative genomics and proteomics. The institute's team consists of biologists, biotechnologists, microbiologists and technologists. The primary goal is to create a freely available human protein reference database using open source technologies and to experimentally verify predicted human genes using molecular biology and proteomics-based methods.
