Institut de Chandernagor was established under the Treaty of Cession of Chandernagar in 1952. It is a cultural center with a museum, art gallery, library and auditorium. Institut de Chandernagor is an important Indo-French cultural link.
The museum exhibits valuable documents and relics of local freedom-fighters, bibliographical materials, photographs, paintings, a few terracotta and other antiquities and folk art objects.
Working Hours: 16:00 hrs - 18:30 hrs (Weekdays); 11:00 hrs - 17:00 hrs (Sundays). Closed on Thursdays.
