Indrasani Mansa Devi Temple




Indrasani Mansa Devi Temple is an ancient shrine situated in the village of Kandali Patti, 14 km from Rudraprayag, in Uttaranchal. The temple, which dates back to the age of Adi Shankaracharya, is built in a unique architecture, surrounded by the temples of Jalkedareshwar, Khetrapal and Jakh Devta.

The origin of Indrasani Mansa Devi has been described in Skandpurana, Devibhagvata and Kedarkhand. It is said that Indrasani Devi was a Mansi Kanya of Kashyapa and was known as Vaishnavi, Shavi and Vishari. Local populace believes that the Devi can save people from snakebites.
