Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum

Indira Gandhi Memorial Museum is located in New Delhi. This historic museum, originally the residence of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, is a fascinating insight into the independence movement of India.

Prominent of the items on display is the saree which she wore at the time of assassination. Special attention is given to a crystal plaque which has the brown spots of Indira Gandhi's blood.

Library and the living room have been maintained just as she kept them. These rooms are not open to the public and it can be viewed through the windows from the garden. Besides, there is a good collection of photographs documenting Indira Gandhi's life from her childhood days to the days as a prime minister.

The museum is open on all days except Mondays. Visiting hour is from 9:30 hrs to 17:00 hrs.
