Indian Institute of Mass Communication




Internationally famed Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) was started on August 17, 1965. The campus covers an area of about 15 acres in new JNU campus near Aruna Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi. It is an excellent center in communication teaching, training and research arena. The institute provides training in mass communication to support economic and social development of the nation. Post graduate courses in journalism and diploma in development journalism are conducted here. In-service coaching programs are also provided in journalism and photography. Facilities include studios, library, hostel, and auditorium with modern accessories. Post graduate diploma course in journalism is also offered at the institute's Dhenkanal branch in Orissa. Separate courses are conducted for foreign journalists.
