Indian Institute of Advanced Study




Indian Institute of Advanced Study was founded on October 6, 1964, in Shimla. The then President of India Professor S Radhakrishnan formally inaugurated the institute on October 20, 1965. It offers high standard environment for researches especially in Humanities, Indian Culture, Religion and the Social and Natural Sciences.

Indian Institute of Advanced Study has a library which comes with 1.5 million volumes of books including around 40,000 back volumes of journals, microfilms and other documents.
