Ilampatti is a small village on the banks of the Cauvery, in Namakkal District, near the border with Erode District. It is located midway between Jedarpalayam and Nallur and is about 15 km south-west of Tiruchengode. Malayampalayam is the next major settlement on the other side of the border.
Kodumudi, Chennamalai, fort of Namakkal and Kolli Waterfalls are some tourist spots in the neighborhood.
