Idupidi




Idupidi or Kidupidi is a small hemispherical instrument belonging to Kerala. It is made up of hollow wood and can be played only on one side. The mouth is covered with tightened leather.

Idupidi is accompanied with Nagaswaram in certain temples, especially in the Guruvayur temple. An instrument of this type is also found in Tamil Nadu.
