Idaikattur Church is an ancient church built in Gothic architectural style situated at Idaikattur, in
Sivagangai District of
Tamil Nadu. It is about 36 km from
Madurai and in close proximity to the National Highway leading to
Rameshwaram from Madurai.
The church built in Gothic architectural style was constructed similar to that of RHEIMS cathedral in France. The statues in the church are brought from France and it dates back to 110 years ago. The reason behind this was a historical event which took place, when this church was built hundreds of angels appeared and solved a great problem.
