Hundar




Hundar is a small village, nestled in a forested patch, in Leh District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is on the way from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung la pass, one of the highest motorable pass in the world. Part of the road goes over the glacier.

Chamba Monastery is the main attraction. Down the stream is a mansion which once belonged to Zimskhang (a royal family).

Hundar is only 7 km north of Deskit. From Leh, buses are available up to Deskit. Camel safaris are available from Deskit to Hundar.
