Howrah Bus Station




Howrah Bus Station is situated in the city center, to the west of the Hooghly River. It is connected to National Highways 2 and 6. The bus station operates deluxe, express and fast passenger buses connecting important towns in West Bengal. Buses frequently ply from Howrah to Hooghly, Kolkata, Darjeeling, Siliguri, Midnapore and Alipurdua.

Adjacent to the bus station is the Howrah Railway Station, one of the biggest railheads in the world. It is an important terminus for the Eastern and South Eastern suburban railway systems. The nearest airport is at Kolkata.

The prime attractions include the Belur Mutt, headquarters of Ramakrishna Mission and the Vidyasagar Setu Bridge. In the immediate vicinity of the station, there are several hotels providing comfortable accommodation.
