Hongere Jain Temple




Built during the Hoysala's period in the 12th century, Hongere Jain Temple is a famous pilgrim center in Hassan District. Bhagvan Mahavir, the main deity which is 30 inches tall and black in color is found in kayotsarga posture. In addition, idols of goddess Padmavathi, choubis and many small metal idols are found inside the temple sanctum. The temple is well connected by a network of roads from Hassan and Shanthigrama.
