Hirekerur is a taluk headquarters and a prominent town in Haveri District of Karnataka. The famous Kumudvati River flows near this place.

Temples of Durga, Totada Veerabhadra, Varah, Kaleshwara and Vishaparihareshwara are the main attractions. Rattihalli is about 10 km from Hirekerur.
