Hindustan Institute of Engineering Technology was established in
Chennai in 1966. The institution conducts Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Course, Automobile Engineering Course and Diploma in Computer Technology course. It has trained engineers and technicians in many disciplines of engineering. There are basic engineering workshops, machine shops, automobile and aeronautical workshops. As a premier technical institution, HIET is widely recognized in the Asian and African continents.
