Hazaribagh, which literally means a thousand gardens, is a picturesque town situated on the
National Highway 33
and is 93 km north of
. It is a famous health hill resort in Jharkhand, perched at an altitude of 2,019 ft. The town is also the administrative headquarters of the Hazaribagh District

Hazaribagh National Park (19 km) and Tilaiya (53 km) and Konar (51 km) dams. Newest attraction is the World's oldest cave picture Isco, which had been discovered from a place, 40 km from the town.
Nearest airport is at Ranchi, which is connected with Kolkata, Patna, Lucknow and New Delhi by regular Indian Airlines flights. Closest railhead is Koderma (59 km).
