Harasaapavimochana Perumal Temple lies at Tirukkandiyur in
Thanjavur District. Facing east, the temple has a three-tiered
Rajagopuram and two prakarams. The temple deity is
Lord Vishnu in the form of Harasaapavimochana Perumal. There is a separate shrine for Goddess Kamalavalli,
Narasimha, Garuda, Aandaal, the Alwars, Brahma and Saraswati. Legend has it that
Lord Shiva removed the 5th head of Brahma at this place. The main festival here is the annual
Brahmotsavam celebrated in the month of Pankuni (March-April).
