Har Ashtami festival marks the incarnation of Goddess Ragnya. This festival is celebrated by the Hindus in Jammu and Kashmir.
On this day, the Hindus undertake fast and visit the Khir Bhavani and Devibal temples. The devotees take bath in the stream located near the temples and burn incense and candles.
It is believed that the color of the water, in the stream near the temples, changes to indicate the current state of the society.
